23rd May 2011, will see Yusuf perform his first ever Concert in Morocco, God Willing.

The Roadsinger Van will take a slight detour from the European Tour into Northern Africa for this Exclusive Concert as part of the 10th Edition of the Mawazine Festival.

4. "My People" is a great title. For me this Egyptian uprising is the most poignant political event of my lifetime. It surpasses the end of the Vietnam war,the end of apartheid, the demise of the Soviet Union, the election of a racially mixed U.S. president. Last night, when Thomas Friedman described for Charlie Rose the words of the young Egyptian who was picking up scattered garbage in Tahrir Square, "My earth, my place, my home," I realized that I am one of the very few Americans who has any concept of the import of that simple act. How many impoverished Egyptians live next to garbage piled twenty feet deep while this machine gun supported neo-pharoh lives in a modern mansion built on --- on the Giza Plateau?!?!? May this spread like wild-fire from Tahrir to Tehran, to Tibet to Taiwan, to Tiennaman Square, to my home town.

12. @redwane yes "Foreigner Suite" from "Foreigner" Album is a Quantam Moment 4 anyone who delves deeply into it ..He really took us "there" I love2lay back in Central Park /Nyc on the lawn looking @ the sky n listen to that Suite . :) that whole album was so filled with piano and sounds... "How many Times" and my fave fave "The Hurt" truly some of the best piano ever! I love how Yusuf talks in Circus Magazine in the 70's which I have , on how He titled "Foreigner" -delving into the black sounds n being a foreigner to it ! What truly makes Yusuf one of a kind is the wistful catch in his voice tht emanates frm anï»¿ open door in His House .. that He allows us to see and come in to... Clearly like no one else I've felt .. Such a gift for He knows to share it .. a vulnerability that is strength n pathos ...perhaps the child in the man .. this is what I see n feel n get from him ..along w a full Orchestration of sounds~ Blessings! 14. I just watched the full Foreigner Suite video on Youtube and am awestruck by the profound musical genius of Yusuf. On this performance alone, he deserves to be elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His denial is well beyond the bounds of sensibility and rational thought. Also, I can't help but wonder how this song might have sounded with either James Brown or Stevie Wonder doing the lead vocals. Of course, I prefer Yusuf's vocals above all others. I urge everyone to check this performance out. It's an absolute masterpiece! Thank you, Yusuf, for opening the doors of communication with your fans. The world desperately needs your loving and peaceful vision and message. I, for one, am eternally grateful for the joy you bring.

16. May I ask how did the image of young Jordan get put up as a poster on your home page? He was one of the first victims of the floods in Queensland Australia recently and he died with his mother. He was only buried yesterday. I tried to click on it to read something but could not. It is a nice acknowledgement but I am sure many browsing this site would not know who Jordan is or why he is on a "poster" on Yusuf's homepage. We desperately need peace in this world and certainly respect for one another, including mother nature.

17. @Aurarisma Actualy I knew Heaven (old version) from Foreigner suite Album that I loved , and I fell in so much love with new version too And by the way I found The Foreigner Suite - Live 1973 on youtube It is just unbeleivable , this is really a symphony played in front of you and not like any other I think, because here we have Yusuf ,( the composer. the lyrics writter, the piano player, the singer), Jean roussel (Synth), Alun Davies(Guit), Gerry Conway(Drums) and the rest of the orchestra all having a blast , you can tell in everyone's face moves and the perfect collectif work they did on this none stop peace of art song. that took 16min 52 sec, I have never seen or heard something this amazing in my life and that sounds full of love and inspiration, meaning like from heaven there was one silence though in the whole composition that was noticebale at min 10:01 just after he says "Without you around, my life would be without sound..." Man, was it intentionaly done like that ? I wish Yusuf could tell us in anyway everything sounded like "too heavenly to be true" ma shaa Allah, I pray God to give him strenght

Dear webmaster, I know this is off topic, and I do try to keep on topic, but I just have to say that it sadly touched my heart when I saw the poster of young Jordan who died so tragically in one of the worst floods to ever hit Australia. I know Yusuf is always very sensitive to victims of such tragic disasters, and I feel the people Australia will kindly appreciate that you have bought attention to the the sorrow and hardship that these people are now facing. The whole nation is pulling together to support and help all that have been affected by these major floods. Brisbane must still be warm in Yusufs heart and mind, as it was only a few months ago that Yusuf and his Roadsters performed for the people of Brisbane. I'm sure everyones good prayers and support will be needed for families to overcome their grief of loved ones and friends. I don't know if Yusuf will write up on young Jordans sad fate, but God Bless Jordan, and all the tragic victims of the flood. May the survivors find strength through their faith to move on and slowly rise above the pain and hardship. I was so fortunate to see/hear Yusuf perform "Foreigner Suite" ("Heaven" is an excerpt of it - you can find it on you tube ) at Madison Square Garden in the 70's -One of the gifts of my Life! I'm probably older than you are redwane :) my father took me there . Heaven/Where True Love Goes is so amazing . Its my ringtone :)sometimes I just let it ring lol Lets keep praying that Yusuf might be considering playing piano again on stage and possibly this song or anyone of his gems.. and anyone that is going to the Mawazine Festival.. have a most festive time !! 24. Kristemfem, sorry for your ignorance not in one way, but many ways. Those who attended Yusuf's concerts in Australia, they were so joyful and thankful and said it was well worth the expenditure. They even requested for repeat performances, and asked come back soon. European people are also voicing the same excitement for the arrival of Yusuf and his band.They are the lucky ones where Yusuf is arriving, because In his talent to impart happiness to people there is none equal to him. You should know that. Before the end of 2010 Yusuf sang to a crowd of approx. 1 million. people were ecstatic to hear him in MY COUNTRY'S capital Washington DC. So please do your home work before you show to people how much bile have. One phone call from Jack Straw corrected the whole problem. Did you know that? Thirdly anger is a sign of depression. One of the attendees in Australia said "visiting a psychiatrist did'nt help, but attending your concert removed my depression, thanks Pal". So you may want to try that too. I ardently wish you happiness and peace with in you and with others. Yusuf and his band is loved by both east and west.

26. 'Green Fields, Golden Sands', didn't violins accompany his voice in this song? Yusufs voice is unique, and with great clarity with or without musical intruments, but to see him perform playing the piano, is pure majic. I think I will have a listen now, curious about the violins, they seem to be playing in my head while I'm singing 'GF,GS'.

I believe as soo many people that have studied music n music theory, n music composition that the piano is much more than "ideal for melody and rhythmn development ." The beauty of the piano cannot be described only felt -its vibrational... The beauty of Yusuf's inner island and charisms that God has bestowed on him are a full orchestration as we all have felt in wonder with the amazing orchestrations He creates .. one of my favorite being the orchestration in Jzero for example .. *too many to mention!!).. the violins.. all of his arrangements are luminous to me .. and I'm so grateful for his beautiful voice and his chamber of Heart to create such vivid lustrous color and texture to his arrangements and glad that He is grateful for that gift from God Almighty .Im grateful for the Pilgrimmage He is on ..just the way He is . Please stay away, stay out of my country, this is hypocrisy at the highest level. All information pertaining to the Concerts clearly states that this is Yusuf in Concert. I am not sure which Country you are from as you have not stated it but I would be happy if you could email us at music@yusufislam.com with information of where you have seen it advertised as Cat Stevens in Concert, without the mention of the name Yusuf. With regards to the 'no fly list' that you mention, you will find, as we all did that it was a case of mistaken identities and Yusuf has enjoyed performing and visiting there on a number of occasions since the time of that incident. 32. Salaams, When in Rabat, have a look around for a young Moroccan hiphop band from Marraksh called Fnaire. Their name means 'Lanterns', as they seek to spread a positive message by creating their own genre called 'Taqlidi (Traditional) Rap', which uses traditional Moroccan instruments & rhythm, as well as incorporating rap to speak to their generation. And if you have the opportunity to visit Fes, there is a street vendor just before the Bab el Jaloud (main gate to the Medina) who makes potato chips/crisps in a newspaper cone while you wait that are wonderful. Because of the injunctions against depicting human or animal forms which could be construed as idols, abstract ornamentation of everyday objects evolved into high art. Islamic mosaics are ornate and yet simple in a mathematical way. And simple in an "Amish" sense by wedding beauty to what is useful ......Aren't you going to comment on the whimsical painting on Yusuf's homepage?

40. One of the hallmarks of Moroccan art is its intricate complexity in contrast to the simplicity of Cat Stevens' art. I'm more attracted to that kind of simplicy (sipping tea in the sunlight while two children play in a nearby tree), art that takes us back to "when the world was new." But Moroccan art is beautiful in it's own way, it's just not what attracted me to Cat Stevens.

41. Not sure if Yusuf really ever reads these messages. Currently here in Queensland, Australia we have the worst floods since 1974, people dead and missing, utter devastation. I cry with the continual news coverage. It is terribly depressing. I had to turn off the tv and put on your DVDs. It calmed my 6yr old daughter and for a while we forgot our troubles and sang and danced to your music. You are such a beautiful person to have in this world. If I had a wish it would be for my child to meet you ( with me of course) and feel the peace emanating from you as it shows when you sing.

50. In 1979 Yusuf Islam headlined a charity concert to benefit UNICEF's International Year of the Child. One objective was to reduce worldwide child labor. The world has come a long way since then, but still has a long way to go. In 2004, Human Rights Watch noted that Morocco had one of the highest child labor rates in the Middle East & Africa. However, also in 2004, Morocco initiated progressive laws that, among other things, raised the age of employment from 12 to 15 years. I believe Morocco is proressively trying to achieve a better future for its children, but may need help. It always helps to shine a spotlight on a bad situation . . . Where do the children play?

You ve been a guide and a friend since nearly forty years ago, we "talked" so many times in my teenage years, sharing songs as universal feelings, you helped everyone on the search for the truth, your own spiritual search was the brightest light we could follow; i still believe in that nearness and affection and that we will always need it to reach love, peace and God.

61. in year 2010 mawazin had a great success , but in shaa Allah this year with Yusuf Islam it'll be just fabulous just amazing , I can't find the worlds... . Moroccains just love this man Alhamdulillah so much and if I were there I would definetly attend it this time. I hope by then he will also play some songs from his comming album Thank you Yusuf
