Calling Fathers & Sons 2! (Update!)

As on the Australia & New Zealand Tour we’re offering European fans a unique opportunity to make a mark at one of Yusuf’s forthcoming concerts.

Father & Son is one of Yusuf’s most enduring and resonant songs – and we’re reaching out to all the fathers and sons who will be attending one of Yusuf’s concerts in Europe to offer you the once in a lifetime chance to be a part of the show.

UPDATE! The deadline is extended to midnight (CET) on Tuesday 19th 2011

We’d love you to send in a photo of you with your father (or with your son), which we can project while the song is performed.

Please note the following:

- You must be attending a show and clearly specify in your email which show you will be attending.

- Photos must be between 1000Ã—1000 pixels and 2000Ã—2000 pixels (minimum and maximum sizes respectively.) Jpeg or Tiff format.

- You must make it clear in your email that you give permission for the image to be used at the concert.

- Please provide names of both the Father and the Son in the photo.

- Photos will be used at our discretion and we cannot guarantee the use of all photos.

Ask Muslims you know and trust, or look on the internet, to find a mosque that has many people who attend and which is known for its moderate outlook. The vast majority of Muslims are peace-loving, tolerant, and nonviolent, and thatâ€™s what you should look for in a mosque. Itâ€™s not unusual for non-Muslim family members to be worried when one of their relatives wants to embrace Islam, but when they see the peace and beauty of Islam within you and your life, you can help to show them how good Islam really is. 2. Didn't get to send a picture, unfortunately. Me and my father will, however, watch you perform in Stockholm in May. We'll all love to hear your old songs aswell as your newer songs. "Sing Out" would be a treat, though I guess that won't be. Can't wait to see you!

3. Your message of support for the release of Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal from trial in Iran was a joy to witness. One video like that coming from you is worth thousands of letters from lowly Amnesty International members. Caritas in action! Bravissimo!

4. Sorry but i am new to this sort of thing my daughter is getting married on june the 11 she has also taken the the step to change her belief's and has also embraced the muslim faith i as her father support her desicion but the anger from the rest from the family is scary to say the least i played some of your songs and in a moralistic way they are aplicable especialy father and son thank you for your music and for your insperation

5. As I have stated before....Yusuf/Cat/Richard was able to write because of his innate ability to feel the pain of others'...it was his only outlet. Thank God, we shall have all these songs forever. Not too many writers wrote with the passion nor sang with the passion as Yusuf does. John Denver comes close. Of course there are great masters...Sir Elton John.. but as far as depth of soul and exposing of heart, Yusuf's songs.. have literally and personally to me, been my salvation

6. ~Blessings to you Yusuf~ ~~Peace~~ It was so nice to see you on french television with such a wondrous childs eye ~ It was a very beautiful interview that captured so many different steps on the ladder ..and points that many people will understand .. really a brilliant interview .. n filled with Peace ~When one is connected to God,there is effortless spontaneity . On being christened twice,only a greek can understand that episode :) I chuckled with tht because I sooo understand! x :) I can also relate to "Father and Son" even tho I was daddy's little girl those conversations were gems, and I'm grateful as I sift thru them now in my memory. 9. PEACE be with You Mr. Yusef Islam! I'm a Filipino. A Policeman. you are 1 of my stef father's best artist. i heard your songs from him. i even get to recover a cassette tape with the peace train, moon shadow, wild world, hard headed woman and more of your songs in it. i played it a lot in my boarding house where i stayed in my college years. so sad i lost it. our house caught up in fire and my cassette tapes was with it. i admire you a lot. i am planning of converting to islam. i'm a roman catholic. everybody around me don't like the idea of me becoming a muslim because of the terrorist attacks. only my wife is supporting me. i have always dream of becoming a muslim even before i entered college. because of my search of becoming a muslim, the net brought me here in your website. i read about your story in you tube and it inspired me a lot. i'm very happy!i wish to hear you opinion. 15. I just saw a rehearsal video of "When a door is closed ..." Who could have guessed that thirty years of Adhan would be perfect training for singing the blues. What a beautiful lyric! I hope you'll consider releasing it here as a single this summer. Good luck with rehearsals. Stay healthy!

20. You are so right Cheryl. When you look at the Majikat Tour. He looks so unhappy. And then when he is a muslim his eyes are beaming and look at him now. This twinkle in his eyes. His good wit and he is always smiling and laughing about himself. He did choose the right way obviously.

You know, the thing about this song that has always blown me away is the fact that Yusuf wrote it at such a young age, yet he really appeared to have great insight on the perspective of both a young man and an older man. I have always loved the way his voice changes when switching from "Father" to "Son" and consider this to be the best of all his wonderful songs. Thank you Yusuf, for coming back to your music. It was a long wait, but so worth it. It's so gratifying to see that you have found love and inner peace in your life. We love you!!!
