I love it when Yusuf does an interview, it's like a little reconnect with the heart of the man. It feels like an ongoing personal conversation.....
Also who thinks up the passwords for the Redroom, I love them! I keep forgetting mine, and so I get sent new ones to my email, they're quite entertaining in themselves.
Hi Yusuf,
Yes, you're still the Man that is saying what I thought only I was thinking.....you did it as Cat and you're doing it now...just one of the many, Sabina x
@David Fierstein I agree with you on John Lennon and the connection to human nature and also very much so understand in Yusufs feeling the soulmate connection with him . .. yet I feel Cat/Yusuf reached a bit further with a thirst .. toward a divine knowledge not just with humanness but with a thirst, pathos, and perhaps God really Being Present in his Writings and maybe co-writer as well (smile)- nonetheless, both from the same Heart ~Love~
There is a lot of commercial music going on these days ..I can smell the synthetic fiber burning ~! :)
Nice to know you are around to warm the souls and heart my greek brother ~ as we progress together in peace ~
Sending you blessings x best wishes on the rehearsals for European Tour and keeep the childlike joy it looks soo good on you x
In Joy,
Christina
I know what Yusuf meant when he said he felt John Lennon was his soul-mate. I think a lot of us felt a connection with him because he wasn’t afraid to show his human-ness, his vulnerability. He never stopped questioning everything (Gimme some Truth). He seemed to have more doubts than answers, and that’s the way we are as human beings. It’s unfortunate when people stop questioning what they believe to be Truth. Perhaps that’s the point when people seem to grow old.
I know that I am not alone, I know their are numerous people that would love to see you and hear your music in the United States. If there is any way that this issue can be fixed, we the people would love to know.
How can anything be called "art" if it is commercially motivated? As you say, "When you write from the heart, it goes straight to the heart." True art is born from the soul with the unstoppable force of inner necessity. The resonance of that God-given force depends in part upon the soul of the artist. Of true artists, those are most beloved who bravely embody the truths they beget.
Great and important interview, where Yusuf also shows the power of his music to convey the peace of the world. Interestingly also the personal benefit that brought their music (and still bring) to many people around the world.
And as himself, Yusuf, I always considered him too close to John Lennon in the aspects of the ideals of world peace. Amazing!
Thank you very much for sharing!
Peace be with all!
:)
