Yusuf: Road Signer

Canadian autograph hunter website houndstv.com has named Yusuf one of their top signers of 2009.

Yusuf was praised for his kind and gracious nature when signing fan’s memorabilia on his recent trip to Toronto, even as most items were Cat Stevens albums.

Also appreciated was Yusuf’s habit of ‘signing’ off with ‘peace & happiness’

1. I've worked with so many celebrities in my life thus far and I've only asked for one autograph from a man I studied tap dance with in Nyc and that was Gregory Hines (God Rest His Soul) and it wasnt until I went to Royal Albert Hall and saw Yusuf with a few of my Concert Programs in the 70's that I attended. It was made adamant from someone there that there would be only one autograph but when He held them both and put them down to sign them it was like He was seeing a reflection and was smiling ... and He graciously signed them both, and now they are in my Garden Room in Nyc framed and Im sure they are helping my plants grow! Pretty Pretty! Red and Purple.. Forgot to bring the one from 72' :) Peace and Joy always to you Yusuf and Thank You~Smiles Christina Ps.Yusuf, You are my favorite song .. it must be so illuminating to know that you wrote some of these songs decades ago and that you are singing them now with the gift of even more pathos almost like they've revealed more to you...ss you give them to us again on Tour... 5. yusuf islam, i am fan of yo songs too ;) i have all of yo casettes of songs.. but i could not go to yo concert cos i live in Turkey!! i wish you could come here and have a concert here too.. then i d be the first person who ll buy yo tickets..

7. I'm a big fan,have every cd and recently made the long journey down to the Albert Hall Concert. I also devote the vast majority of my spare time to my registered charity Education Gambia which builds schools and then funds education for young children in the gambia who normally wouldn't receive an education. We do a celebrity photo/item auction each year and lots of major celebs have helped us out with signed photos and cd's. I have tried contacting Yusuf several times including through the contact section on the website. Unfortunately I have yet to even receive a reply which is a bit disapointing. Maybe I am sending to the wrong address so if anyone can let me know a contact point I would be very grateful.

9. Peace and well-being to you mate. It's been so many years since we've worked together. Those old sounds still hold up. In L.A. this past summer and couldn't get to the show as I was in session. And then you came to our neck of the woods, Toronto, recently but I was not into the crowds. It would be great to work together again, though. So keep me in mind for future projects as my ears are still superb even though I'm a grand-dad now. Anna and Sacha are both well. I'm still active in the industry and still working with Ian Gillan.
