Roadsinger: Australia/NZ Special Edition

Universal Music Australia are releasing a very special Tour Edition of Yusuf’s extraordinary ‘Roadsinger’ album.

The re-release, which will be available in Australia and New Zealand only, celebrates the return of one of the most revered and critically acclaimed recording artists in popular music to the Australian stage after an absence of nearly four decades.

There is also a fresh look for the album, with brand new cover art and fold out design. It will also feature the bonus track ‘Boots & Sand’, previously only available via download.

1. The TV programme about your life which screened in NZ last night was so interesting. Please can we have another concert in Auckland added so I (and many others) also get the chance to see you perform live!

2. On New Zealand TV last night aired a show about you, I think it was called Beyond the Rock - Cat Stevens. It was amazing to find out that you were only 19 when you had your first brush with death and had already been famous for a few years. Your songs you had written even at that young age were profund, you were wise beyond your years. I think your parents must of done a great job raising you and I wonder where the caibre of talent like yours is nowadays. I don't think that the young people of today want that introversion into ones own spirit that your songs invariably creates. We are all so lucky that you had a shot at fame , so that we can enjoy your god-given talent. The show about your life was utterly inspiring. Wish I could be at your NZ show.

3. Irene, I really hope Yusuf sees your "little message." What a wonderful story. You were with him during one of the most creative times of his life. And I hope you get to meet him back stage and remind him of who you are. There is a picture of him at King Edward VII Hospital here (http://www.yusufislam.com/lifeline/10/324b11745313609e51df399c16ebe1c1/)..... and there are a couple of oranges in the background - I wonder if it was one of those that he tossed at you (I suppose you had to give him a shot, and he didn't like it, but hopefully the orange throwing was all in fun)...Peace and smiles

4. Hello Yusuf, I know you wont remember me, though I am sure you will your time spent at King Edward VII in 1968. I was a student nurse on your ward, when introduced by Sister Tutor you said"you know who I am don't you" I replied I hadn't a clue, you didn't believe me, but it was true. I must have had my head in the sand, though I was very much into Modern Jazz then. I have loved and enjoyed your music ever since for over 40 years. I now live in Auckland NZ,and as a treat have managed to get tickets to see you at Vetor Arena. I never thought I would get the chance to mend the error of my ways of the past by seeing you in concert.By the way the orange you threw at me to practice my needle skills didnt really help, I never did finish my nurses training,something I regret.I am so looking forward to the concert and seeing you again , if only from a distance, writing this to you has brought back to me so many memories of that time so long ago, I do hope you see this little message. Already close to the first performing Yusuf ,hope you and your family are arrived well in Australia.May i wish you a warm welcome there and a great performing .Hope you all have the chance to discover a bit of the country there .Wished i could come to New Zealand your great music and all the beautiful nature there that would be just complete the perfect way to make a trip but you can't always have what you want .Enjoy all those performings and may you have wonderfull evenings there ,may God bless you on this trip together with your family .Wish also the same for Yoriyos and his band Noxshi . 7. Wishing you and your family nothing but love and a warm reception everywhere you go on this tour. Gabi is right - the stage is where you belong to bring peace and love to the world, and may that be returned right back to you. Many of us will be watching from afar and waiting for yet another turn of our own to see you on stage again. Twice last year was simply not enough! Welcome home again!

Thereâ€™s peace in knowing that "Boots & Sand" is finally back home on the Roadsinger album â€“ thank you for the lighthearted good humor and the easygoing, shrug-it-off, sense of forgiveness â€“ so refreshing and appropriate in this new season for Cat Stevens/Yusuf.
