Yusuf To Visit Sanafontis Hospital, Germany

[Updated]: On Sunday June 14th, Yusuf will be paying a special visit to the Sanafontis private cancer hospital in Freiburg, Germany.

During the visit Yusuf will be undertaking a number of activities including a tour of the facility and a ‘Rendezvous with Yusuf’, which will include an auction of limited edition Yusuf memorabilia, with all proceeds raised going to the patients charity to help fund treatment.

[15/6/09]: We are pleased to announce that the charity auction at the hospital raised thousands of euros (memorabilia t-shirts alone were snapped up for upwards of 300 euros each). During the visit Yusuf performed the following set which included, at the request of one of the hospitalâ€™s patients, a solo acoustic rendition of Morning Has Broken:

6. Great to hear about the trip. It's always very uplifting when someone well known (and much loved in this case!) gets involved in the fight against cancer, which takes so many people, too early.
  
  I had cancer in a big way in 2005, and I am very lucky to be here due to great treatment at MRI and The Christie Cancer hospital in Manchester. You never know if it will come back, so you have a permanent interest in its treatment. I had lost someone dearly loved to renal cancer in 2007. He was gone within 8 months of diagnosis, and was fighting for future treatment of others, until he passed on.

7. It is really touching to read that Yusuf will be visiting the cancer hospital and doing so much for the patients and the hospital. My husband has been battling cancer for the last couple of years here in the States and I can tell you Yusuf's visit will do wonders for everyone there. Thanks, Yusuf.
