Thanks!

Thanks to all of you who came to the show, for the welcome home!

And thanks too to all those who wanted to be there but couldn’t. Thanks for all the flowers and all the roses, and thanks for all the hours spent reuniting, meeting one another and writing.

Thanks for being there when I needed support, even when it all looked lost… thanks for hanging in there, especially my family, my wife and children and the growing branches, thanks to my musicians, Island and crew, and the trusty ol’ peace-van, and thanks for the faithful light, which met me and brought me back, and most of all, thanks to the One without Whom the sky would fall, the sun and moon would not shed light, the earth would not turn… and thanks to the One Who delivered Joseph from the bonds of slavery.

1. The thanks go to you, my friend. You brought so many people together, not only for the one night at Shepherd's Bush, but for several days with new friends and a lifetime thanks to the internet. Your return to your music has brought smiles to many and gives me great joy. I hope you are enjoying your return as much as your fans are. To us, it is magic.

4. Hi Yusuf, I am one of your biggest fans from Glasgow. I last saw you back in the 70s at Glasgow Apollo and great to hear your music again last week at Shepherds Bush. Your latest album is fab!! One of my best moments was seeing your peace-van which I was lucky enough to sit inside, I took lots photos. I would be thrilled to hear you play in Glasgow again.

5. for all of my musical life i was a big fan of yours. i sang/sing your songs, i wrote songs about you and i flew in from germany to shepherds bush to see your concert. likewise to the seventies (when i have seen you) it was a great gig. but likewise to your latest cd it was much too short. a cd with 32 minutes is not really acceptable (why not boots and sand, indian ocean.....as well) and a concert for one hour is not what satisfies me. a lot of us spent a lot of money just to see you - why didn't you give us a whole concert? on some of my gigs i sing more of your songs than you did on that night. welcome home and stay longer. walter f. diet

And I was myself on the path, and it was easier with you encouraging me on -- we will always be kindred spirits in "a world filled with hatred and tears". 16. I must admit this is a very trying time for me as I just lost my father a couple weeks ago, and knowing that the hospital was severely negligent, makes it even harder to deal with the grief.
  
  However, hearing of your wonderful performance and seeing all the beautiful videos and photos seems to help lighten my heart. Your CD is simply fantastic, Yusuf. It's so true, music does help heal the soul during painful times! Thank you so much, and peace always! Peace, Vivian

We have never met, however, in many ways a friendship is often established between a musician and a fan, through the words and melodies of a musician's craft. Therefore, you have always been, and continue to be, a friend.
