  Island Records Revisited

  Yusuf and his long time guitarist Alun Davies went on a trip down memory lane yesterday as they were interviewed for a forthcoming documentary celebrating Island Records’ 50th anniversary.

  Filmed underneath Macclesfield Bridge in Regents Park, Yusuf and Alun chatted with the documentary makers as they sat on old crates and fished in the Regents Canal.

  The Q&A session covered Yusuf’s early career and the success of classic Cat Stevens albums such as Tea for the Tillerman. Yusuf also shared his memories of working with Island founder Chris Blackwell and other major artists associated with the label during the ’70s.
