Boots & Sand Update…
Jesse Dylan’s video of Boots & Sand is looking good and is currently quite far ahead in the editing process.
Filmed in the Californian desert outside Los Angeles, it features an intriguing-looking cast who play a bunch of travellers lost in the wilderness along with Yusuf. The video is based on an idea of Jesse’s and inspired by Fellini.
The boots (pictured above) worn by Yusuf unfortunately gave him sore feet, so we may not see him in them again for a long, long time. Thankfully, the boots were not unduly upset and, since then, have enjoyed a very easy life in the closet.
Apart from that minor discomfort, Yusuf enjoyed making the video immensely. Whilst on the shoot, he also took time to record a message for the charity, (RED), founded by Bono of U2. In it he spoke of the need to preserve the world for future generations, ending the message with an acoustic rendition of Oh Very Young. You can watch the video below.
Both the single and video for Boots & Sand are expected be released simultaneously with Yusuf’s forthcoming studio album (as yet untitled), due later this year.
