Eid Message!

Eid Mubarak!

A wonderful coincidence happens this year where the celebration of Eid al Adha, the festival of Pilgrimage, arrives the next day after Thanksgiving (mainly in USA). While on the one hand the Eid Festival is celebrating the completion of the rites of Pilgrimage to Makkah and surrounding areas, built on the returning of humanity to the Creator in a global wave of worship; the other is about Pilgrims fleeing persecution and finding God’s bounty awaiting them in another land, thanking God for their safety and sustenance. Both are a sign that God shows His path and makes a way for those who believe enough to make a journey in His name…

1. Dear Brother Yusuf, Thank you for your thought-provoking â€˜Eid message. It led me to reflect on how the Native â€œAmericansâ€ sacrificed by sharing their food and resources to help the European settlers, and how the Pilgrims were thankful to both the Natives and God. Likewise, Muslims celebrate â€˜Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, by sharing their â€˜Eid lamb with family, friends, and those in need â€“ all as a symbol of thanks and obedience to God. And then when I attended the â€˜Eid prayer and stood worshipping God with thousands of other Muslims, I got the same feeling that I get from your concerts â€“ a sense of communion with everyone present as well as an undeniable connection with the spiritual (which to me is God). Itâ€™s as if weâ€™re all Pilgrims â€“ as if all of humanity is on a quest to find the Sacred. I pray that God will guide us all to a path that leads to Him. As you write, â€œâ€¦ God shows His path and makes a way for those who believe enough to make a journey in His name.â€ â€˜Eid Mubarak (a blessed festival). I hope that you and your family had a healthy and happy â€˜Eid.

15. Eid Mubarak! Wish you good luck with the concert in liverpool and london, and thank you for a wonderful night in birmingham. It was perfect in every single way, and it sure was the best night in my life. Since it's Eid today, and it's mostly a day for helping out the poor people, i'm really happy that all the tour money will go to charity. God bless you. Peace!
