Yusuf and Ramadan in Dubai
Yusuf has recently been working in the Jamal Records studio in Dubai, overdubbing and rough mixing for his next album. He also began recording a selection of verses from the Qur’an, in English and Arabic, which will feature on the Mountain of Light website later this month.
He was in Dubai to meet the arrival of the month of Ramadan, which started on 1st September. For all Muslims around the world, Ramadan is characterised by fasting, prayer and charity. It is especially significant since it was during this month that the Qur’an began to be revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings on him. Ramadan will culminate at the end of September with the celebratory festival of Eid.
