  2. I cannot hear this album without thinking of my father who played it for me so many times and died at my side 11/26/98. Rest in peace. Moonshadow was one of his favorite songs and song and death were seeds from which my own spiritual quest grew. Thank you. The Birth of Athena, Bitter Goddess of Wisdom I witnessed my birth in flashes of red and blue light amid siren-wail and uniform when father and innocence died I was born, fully-grown woman I sprang from the fractured skull of my father, my God, Warrior-woman reluctant to fight born battle-scarred on the field of a hero’s death.

  4. This is the first album I ever purchased. My sister broke it by accident. I repurchased it, later bought the cassette (stolen from my car), then the CD (melted in the sun) and recently downloaded it on iTunes. Still my favourite album of all time and most definitely the most music formats I've ever owned over time. I guess I'll have to find an 8 track version some day to make it complete. :-) Thanks for the music!

  5. Agree with previous comments on "How Can I Tell You", a beautiful somber tune that has so much feeling.

  6. I am listening to this album right now as I write project on it. The project about what album do i feel has had the most impact on me and the world in the last 50 years. I am 16 and have been listening to you since i was born. I was thrilled when Roadsinger came out because I was always upset to think that you were done with making angel's music and that I wouldnt be alive for another amazing and love filled album. I just want to say thankyou for singing and just making this world and my life just that much more meaningful to be able to listen to you. -Jeff

  8. A few years ago I found a copy of the children's book based on the story of Teaser and the Firecat. Your illustrations are so delightful and I always looked forward the the new albums to see the drawings as well as hear the music. I was happy to see the illustration/animation for Boots and Sand. It was wonderful to see your sense of humor on display once again.

  15. Allah, please keep me strong and steadfast in prayer during this Ramadan and into the coming year so that I shall recieve your bounties. I may thirst for water during my fast, but not so much as how I thirst for your guidance. Amin

  16. When I was a little girl my father played your music and I would dance around our house... now today I play your beautiful music for my little girl and still dance and sing along! So glad you are making music again!

  17. Just about to buy the cd of Teaser and the Firecat. My original vinyl copy went missing in 1973 at a party held at the flat I was then living in (along with Tea for the Tillerman). At least the culprits had good taste. Still, they didn’t get my Catch Bull at Four as it was between 2 classic albums. My son bought Tea for the Tillerman about a year ago. I was pleased that he found "Cat Stevens", without my help!!

  18. Rubylove is an exquisite, beautiful and magic song. If I Laugh is so sweet. The Wind is a small work of art. Moonshadow is so, so magic. Bitterblue, Peace Train are fantastic and Morning Has Broken is a beautiful poem!! I can't stop listening to them.

  21. Teaser and the Firecat and Tea for the Tillerman were and are still 2 of my favorite albums of all time. My wife and 5 kids even know and love your songs. Many have such wonderful meaning and are deeply thought provoking. I am so glad that you (Cat / Yusuf) are back singing again in the US. I hope to one day see you sing somewhere. Your songs are simply a part of me that will never die. Thank you.
